The route we took in Pisgah was really brutal! It's still soaking in how tough it really was... But I had a great time and would do it again in a heart beat!
Honestly, I had no idea what we where getting into before we headed out for the ride. I knew it was going to be tough, but not as tough as it was. Hide-sight I would have left the helmet cam at the camp and saved the two pounds it added to my load for food. BUT... I also can't believe I rolled out of the camp and forgot all my food too. Real stupid move on my part and I sure as hell paid for that mistake.
But I got through it, got to ride some great trails and I had a great time doing it... and got to ride it with a hell of a great bunch of guys!
I'm ready to go back and hit that loop again. And now that I know what to expect, I'll be better prepared for the challenge!
I must say... that has to be the toughest trail I've ever ridden before!
And it makes Douthat seem like a joy ride!
The Pisgah loop we rode.... raised the benchmark!
