Has anyone ever ridden at Brown Mountain in NC before? I've never been there and have always been interested in checking it out. If you've have ridden there what are the trail conditions like? Is it worth checking out or is my time better spent else where?

Right now Brown Mtn. ATV area is a mess! The trails have been closed to the ATV traffic...but there has been a lot of work done to the dampened soil. The end result right now are very soggy trails, and very muddy....soft soil coditions. I had a friend ride them today. He said that he was pedalling down steep downhill runs. He recommended that riding other areas such as Wilson's Creek, and both sides of Hwy 181 is advisable. Maps of the Wilson's Creek area are available at N.C. Pisgah ranger stations.  |

Thanks for the heads up on Brown Mtn. I've been wanting to ride there for some time, glad I asked before I made a day trip of it. It's been a while since I last hit Wilson. Definitely need to go there again soon.
