I've been working on a trail network in Huntersville since about last June.  The trail will emphasize jumps, drops, elevated structures and tough lines both going up and down.  What we have built for features so far:

2ft ladder drop strategically placed at the top of a hill so you can carry it out

3ft high dirt kicker

15ft gap jump over a gully(sorry, no pic)

4ft "DiCkY" drop from the mind of teamdicky
berm before

DiCkY drop

2ft high, 6in wide log crossing

Teeter totter to 4ft bridge to 4ft drop(partial pic)

Things we're currently working on:
30ft ladder bridge with 2ft and 4ft high options
4ft drop and the to of a hill(same idea as the 2fter)
60ft long, 2ft high skinny made entirely out of cedar

All of the features are being built to work with the "flow" of the trail.  All features have go arounds.  when all is said and done, we're hoping for 4-6 miles of trail that will consist of a main loop with 3-4 options that will put you back on the main loop.  Although the trail will be relatively short, we want to make it so that there is something fun and challenging around every turn.  Typically I work out there on sunday mornings.  if you have some free time, come on out.  let me know if your interested and I'll get you directions.  and bring a bike because we usually ride the trail as well.  and yes, it is 100% legal, approved by the town of Huntersville.  for more info check out www.bikepasa.com.

Nice work man!  That looks to be a sweet trail - one of the few in the area with built stunts.  Looks like alot of hard work has gone into the trail and the structures.

Is that part of parks and rec or is it land that belongs to the town?  Curious as to whether parks and rec are warming to the idea of built structures.

Keep up the good work.

land is owned by the town of huntersville but i've been working w/parks and rec.  good thing with huntersville is they do not fall under mecklenburg parks and rec.  H-ville seems more open.  This was just a vacant piece of land and we're thankful to have the opporunity there.

couple pics from weekend work.

ladder bridge that starts at about 2ft, goes up to 4ft, is about 25ft long and has a 4ft drop at the end.  we're going to build a get off from the 2ft section for those not ready to go higher.

this is going to be a monster.  i acquired a cedar tree from someone who had cut it down.  with some help, I split the logs and we'll end up with about a 65ft skinny.  it will be elevated, probably about 2ft off the ground.

Great looking stunts and ladders!

You should post the photos in the Gallery so they show up on the home page.

Where in Huntersville is this place?

Vinny - that looks like some quality construction - should be bomb proof!

Nice work out there.  I need to get out there to check it out.

It's about a mile from the center of Huntersville, about 2 miles from N Meck.  I'm a little apprehensive still about giving out exact location as it's not officially open and there is no signage.  Only people so far who know where it is are those who are working on it.  I'm out there sundays usually from 9-1.  I work, ride some, and then work some more.
